It's part of the fun and challenge of hunting for treasure of the vintage kind. The internet has really made researching a little easier but there is certainly great value in tracking down Great-Grandpa or the old-timer down the road to get their opinion - their stories will be priceless, whether or not they really know what the treasure is that you've found.
